User Details
View and manage an individual user's profile, course progress, group memberships, and permissions.
When you click on any individual in your User Directory, you are taken to their dedicated User Profile. This page acts as a centralized command center for managing that specific person's entire lifecycle within your organization—from updating their job title to tracking their compliance certificates and assigning new courses.
The profile is divided into several logical tabs to keep information organized.
1. Information
The Information tab provides a high-level overview of the user's identity, contact details, and platform activity.

- Contact: The user's confirmed email address and geographic location.
- Account: Timestamps showing exactly when the user registered and when they last logged into the platform. This is highly useful for tracking engagement.
- Manager: Defines the direct reporting line for this user. Assigning a manager here automatically updates your organization's visual Org Chart and allows the designated manager to monitor this user's learning progress via the Group Lead portal.
- Account Attributes: Organizational metadata such as Department, Employment Type, Workplace Type (e.g., On-site vs. Remote), and Seniority.
You can click the Edit button in the top right to update these fields if an employee gets promoted or changes teams.
2. Learner Activity
The Learner tab is where you will spend most of your time. It contains all the data regarding what this user is learning, what they have completed, and what knowledge bases they can access. It is broken down into four sub-tabs:
Enrollments
This view lists all individual courses the user is taking. You can instantly see their progress percentage, enrollment date, and status (e.g., Active or Completed).

To manually assign a new course to the user, click the blue + Enroll in Course button, search for the course in the modal, and click Enroll.

Learning Paths
Similar to individual courses, this sub-tab tracks the user's progress across structured, multi-course curricula.

You can assign a user to a new program by clicking + Add to Learning Path.

Playbooks
This section displays all the internal knowledge management resources (like Employee Handbooks or Sales SOPs) the user has been granted access to read.

Certificates
When an employee completes a course that issues a credential, a permanent copy is stored here. As an admin, you can view or download the PDF of their certificate at any time—perfect for verifying compliance during a company audit.

3. Groups
The Groups tab shows every team, cohort, or department this user belongs to. Group membership often dictates which Learning Paths or Playbooks the user is automatically assigned.

To place the user into a new group, click + Add to Group. A modal will appear allowing you to search your existing organization groups. Select the appropriate group and confirm. If a user changes roles, you can easily remove them from an old group by clicking the red Remove button.

4. Portals (Access Management)
TechClass uses a multi-portal architecture. By default, every active user has access to the Learner Portal so they can take courses and read playbooks.
The Portals tab allows you to elevate a user's privileges by granting them access to administrative workspaces.

- Instructor Portal: Toggle this on if the user is a subject matter expert who needs to create courses, grade assignments, or manage Playbook content.
- Group Lead Portal: Toggle this on if the user is a manager or team lead who needs to monitor the training progress of their direct reports.
Remember to click Save Changes after modifying any portal access!
